Recording My New Song & The Inspiration Behind The Music

I previously wrote a blog referring to a new music video I had made.
The video is now ready, and I wanted to share what inspired me to write the song and about the recording process. The video is at the end of this blog.
I was inspired by Tommy Emmanuel's rendition of 'Over The Rainbow'. A simple video of him playing acoustic guitar so perfectly, in finger-picking style, the colours, highs and lows - it's well worth a listen!
I had been working on the song for about 5 months. Even a few days before the shooting it wasnt exactly complete however, I wanted to trust the process and see what came out on the day.
On the day, I did seven takes. Each take was a bit different. Take 4 was over 4 minutes, while Take 7 was under 3 minutes. Even though I had practiced it hundreds of times at home, when I played it in the studio, different variations came out. I was surprised!
While the producer was arranging the equipment, I experimented playing the song differently. It sounded more natural in this new way, so I decided to record it like this, rather than the way I had practiced it.
Recording is a different process from normal practicing. The mic is on, and in this case, the camera too.
After recording, I was full of energy and on a natural high. But later, I was exhausted. A lot of emotion came out, it must have been some kind of release.
The producer did a great job in the quality of the video and he put a lot energy in.
The song 'Free' is about the liberation and freedom that exists in the original mind. I have experienced this freedom and wanted to express this in the song.
