Today I visited the Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Temple in Flat Bush, Auckland.

One enters the temple premises through large gates from Stancombe Road. There is a large carpark available.

One enters through the main entrance before passing through into the a large peaceful courtyard that lies before the main prayer room.

Once inside the four walls of the temple, I feel sheltered, a peaceful world away from the busy roads outside.

I love coming here.

The courtyard is well-kept with beautiful trees. It is a very peaceful setting.

Inside the main prayer room is the Buddha. I like praying inside the temple, even just a short moment of gratitude.

Along with the main prayer room, there are other rooms, including an art gallery. Inside, I picked up a little wisdom paper scroll:

"You will win hearts when you are modest and do not force others to act against their will"

- Master Hsing Yun

A real treat of the temple is the Water Drop Vegetarian Cafe!

Being situated inside the premises, this cafe has a sense of calm. I had a lovely kumquat tea that I highly recommend!

"You will be happy when you celebrate other people's good deeds without jealousy."

- Master Hsing Yun
