Flat Tyre During the Xmas Swirl - Power of Gratitude

At 5.30 pm on Monday night I slowly parked my car at my gym ready to attend class.

A bystander standing next to my car noticed my tyre was flat and pointed it out to me. 🙏

I had been driving with a flat tyre.

In the past, I would have started worrying in this situation...

How am I going to get home? How long will I need to wait to get it fixed? What about all the things I need to do at this busy time?

From the day before, I had been feeling grateful. Grateful I am alive. Grateful I have a job. I had been calm inside.

So, when I saw my flat tyre, I just thought "Oh, thats not great" but I felt okay. I even kind of laughed.

I knew it was best for me to attend my pre-booked gym class as I knew I would feel better from doing exercise. So after class, I called the AA for help.

As an AA member I get 6 free Roadside Service call outs per year.

I had a clear mind and parked in a well-known location at a petrol station, to make it easy for the AA to find me.

Since I had to wait 30 minutes for the AA to arrive, I had time to check my emails and catch up on life admin - things I would usually do before bed.

On the Sunday the day before, I knew I was going to be busy this week as it was my last week of work before Christmas. I therefore prepared my food for the week to limit stress after each workday.

The AA man arrived and conveniently replaced my tyre. He told me my flat tyre could be repaired easily and advised me to take it to the tyre shop. I tried to listen to his advice.

I arrived home not much later than normal since the traffic was lighter coming home a bit later.

With a calm mind that night I played guitar as it got dark, and even came up with a new song.

All because of a grateful mind. I could go through this fine.

Thank you🙏
