Architects, engineers, town planners, urban designers, ecologists and traffic engineers are very busy at the moment in Auckland.

Auckland Council are increasing the Development Contributions in May which has many developers (and their project team) scrambling to lodge their applications into Council before the increase.

It's the busiest I've been.

With such tight turnarounds, the project team has had to work together. No time to argue or complain, we have had to make it happen.

I am fortunate to work in a good company working on a number of large greenfield subdivisions for what will become new communities.

About 600 dwellings in apartment, terrace and stand alone style, I have lodged in the last month.

It will be a couple of years before they are built, but the ground work is being done now.

Earthworks, subdivision, roads, planted streams, neighbourhood parks, cafe, new school will be formed within the sites I am working on, establishing an area for people to live.

Reflecting on this busy time, I have noticed that, when I make up my mind to complete a task, I can.

However, without regular meditation, I never would be able to do it.

Enjoying this Easter Break has come at the right time.
